Coach Jim Baker has a tremendous amount of experience in international basketball. Coach Baker has been to Belgium 18 times over a period of 17 years to teach and conduct clinics and hold basketball camps. Thousand of campers have attended his camps. He has conducted basketball camps and clinics in Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Iceland, Costa Rica, and Barbados. Over one thousand international coaches have attended his clinics and purchased TIMEOUT products. Coach Baker's Catawba Basketball Team played in Barbados, Iceland, Belgium, and Hawaii. There have been 12 international players play basketball for Coach Baker at Catawba College. The players have come from Australia, Lithuania, Croatia, England, Iceland, Serbia, France, Sweden, and Germany. In addition, 19 of Coach Baker's Catawba players have played professionally over seas.
"BASKETBALL AMERICA CAMPS"
Hundreds of international campers and coaches have attend camps at Catawba in a program called "BASKETBALL AMERICA". In 1996 alone, 43 campers and 3 coaches attended the Catawba Basketball Camp thru "BASKETBALL AMERICA". The campers and coaches spend one week attending the Catawba Basketball Individual Camp and spend a second week attending another college camp. Sightseeing and travel is also included.
